GST

Wrong.....you are not allowed to charge GST unless you are registered for it and are remitting it to the ATO.  You do not have to register for GST until your sales reach $75000 in a rolling 12 month period.

However, if you are registered for GST your ebay sales must have the GST included in the selling price.....you cannot charge the buyer extra after the item has sold.

Sorry... but you have that 100% wrong.

It is against the law to charge GST if you are not registered with the ATO to do so.

Then you are required to remit all GST collected to the ATO less any allowable offsets you may have.

Once you expect to reach at least $75K per annum (tax year) total turnover you are required to register for GST.

Under that figure you may optionally register.

But unless you are registerd you cannot colect it.

As others have mentioned, none of your information is accurate. You only have to register for GST once your gross turnover exceeds 75K in any rolling 12 month period. It doesnt matter what your sales projections are, as businesses quite often dont meet sales targets.

What is worse with your statement is that it is actually illegal to charge buyers GST if you are not registered to remit that GST to the ATO. Please check the information you post on the boards before encouraging sellers to act illegally.

no you cannot - they changed it

no au law u must provide tax invoice.  ebay changed the goal posts again so it forces u to use their post.  its 2-10 times more expensive

No doubt since the person you are replying to posted their answer in 2012 , a lot has indeed changed in almost nine years
