Pre-managed payments, they did not refund the buyer in cases like this - I'm not 100% sure what their procedures are like on MP, though.
In the past, the buyer would receive a vague notice that the item had been removed, and then some really conflicting advice about what to do.
First, they'd be told not to pay for the item, but then they were told if they had already paid, not to worry and they might still receive it - they are not told why the item was removed, just that it was a potentially fraudulent transaction.
However, buyers in these cases always had to take the initiative themselves to open a case (this can be evidenced by the many threads in the buyer section of the forums, from members who were the buyer in this scenario).
However, do double-check your payment account on eBay and the payment status of the order there. And, if you can, communicate with the buyer - if they received an email from eBay even remotely like the one that's gone out previously, they are probably concerned and confused by what's happening.
@4channel, please, if you don't have an inkling what eBay's procedures are in these cases, don't give out advice based on assumptions, nor encourage the re-listing of items to try and skirt around policy breaches after one has been issued, particularly with wording that would very likely result in another policy breach being issued. Other people getting away with listing similar items is the worst justification for such actions, and it's not your account that would be at risk.
