Watchers are so thoughtless and rude - especially the way they stare at you. 😉

TCT

If I walk into a B&M shop, and even before i have a time to look what they sell, I am accosted by several members of their staff trying to "help", i am out of there....

In general, I would rather have someone ask if I need assistance than not ask. It's common courtesy as a staff member to try and be the most helpful that you can. A good way of doing that is knowing what they're looking for and that comes about by asking.

If you like having watchers just come on here and say you think they shouldn't be allowed and if they are they should have to pay:^O

Seriously that was really posted once. I think they ended up with hundreds of watchers on each item:^O

There is nothing helpful in  distracting potential buyers from having a look around.  Unless I know what they actually have, and if I like like it, I do not really know what I want; so how can anybody help me?  Sales staff should only ask if person need assistance if they look as they need it.  I am talking about clothing.

It may be different if I walk into a store looking for something particular, like a fridge, but even then, I find sales staff more interested in selling you something, anything, rather than actually listening what you are after.  I have had a girl trying to sell me microwave when I wanted ordinary portable oven, or when I was after very specific upside down fridge they tried to sell me something 2x the size, not to mention that when I asked for stainless steel kettle I ended up with one that is plastic inside.  If I was inspecting the kettle myself, I would have looked inside.  Not to mention the man who dragged me away from  digital radios to try to sell me cheap clock radio.  He actually said:  "they are digital, they are very expensive",  I can tell you I was out of there fast 🙂

Not all watchers actually are interested in buying all of the items they watch. They may simply be curious to see how much it sells for.

I watch stuff that I would like to buy, but finances don't permitt me too at the moment.  So I'll put it on the watch list, that way I can see how much it sells for or if the seller has more than one.

I watch ALL items I intend to buy so I don't impulse buy.

If I just bid or bought now on items I were interested in, I would spend everything I made lol.

I just put them on watch, and have another look the next day so I can make an informed, not rash, decision.

Doesn’t expecting the unexpected make the unexpected expected?

If the number of watchers upsets you then just customise SM so they aren't shown!

I agree, I had a person overbidding on an item. I couldn't let them know. I had to refund (at my cost) and the re list. Happy to say I almost achieved the same price. It was them not reading the description.

More important !

Anyone can see how much money you have spent.

Or how many items you have at home.

To muck knowledge in feedback.

I was robbed for $40,000 last year.

Only the stuff that you find on feedback.

I have contacted E bay. They don't seem to consider it a problem.

Before burglars read the Obituaries. Now may me FEEDBACK?

As to not being able to contact the watcher's. It is probably a security aspect to dicourage out of E bay transactions.

Same with highest bidder.
