I have a buyer who states he has paid for an item but we haven't received notification and the listing is still active.

How does the buyer claim they paid and when?
Have you asked eBay about the sale ?

It stands to reason - the item is still active - therefore not sold - let alone paid for.

Then again, it IS ebay, where stranger things have happened
