They want the FVF on the postage, syrups, they're not game yet to enforce it like the US.


 


I suspect there might be something in our Trade Practices Act that stops them charging for a service they don't provide, postage.



 


There could be a loophole that says eBay is allowed to take fees from postage but not actually say it as such. E.g. having sellers advertise as free postage with no mention of the actual postage cost, as though there isn't one. Common sense prevails but legally, who knows.


 


I'm not a big fan of free postage because it drives the sale price up and potentially drives more buyers away than it attracts. Does depend on what you're selling and how you sell it, though.
