I've read of other people who have sometimes struck massive problems with verification.

I don't have any answers for you, as such, because I think it is hard for anyone without either a licence or passport & I don't know why your government ID card is not being accepted, unless  it is a bit worn or blurry because of its age.

 

What i can say is I don't think it is ever a good idea to list anything on ebay until the verification process has been completed. You can never assume with ebay that all will go well if you list first, verify later. I am so glad that you have only lost a few dollars.

I guess try to persist with verification.

The number of years you have been on ebay won't mean a thing to them. I've been on longer (with other accounts) but I'd still have to go through the same process if I took up selling again.

 

Should verification fail, try other sales avenues. Marketplace is one. General facebook interest groups are another. For example, if you have a specific brand of something, sometimes there are groups to buy and sell that brand. That way, you're advertising to people who are already keen on the products.
