Yes, I am "hung" up on value of an item.
To contribute to a safe trading place, and build the perception of a safe trading place, it is important for sellers to be proactive and responsible, even when they think their buyers may not be. It builds buyer confidence, which in turn creates more sales for us all.
Sellers promoting self interest only on discussion boards does not build buyer confidence.
Building a perception does not make trading safe.. perceived safety is in fact a dangerous thing
It is more important that all buyers understand that not all sellers are proactive and responsible and that buyers need to be responsible for their decisions by reviewing and understanding the terms and conditions of a sale rather than being trained to ignore them
Buyer confidence is built upon good purchasing experiences irrespective of how some sellers actually act.
It is a misnomer to believe that if all sellers did the "right thing" then there would be more sales for all of us when in fact that condition would bring the opposite.... less sales becasue of increased competition
... Carp sellers eventually get found out via feedback or dsr stars.. that is when the good sellers prosper
