I'm not sure buyers read the postage discount info anyway. We have some listings (on another ID) with a postage rule in place where all further purchases of a similar item are free post. The info is also very clearly stated in bold red text in the listing but we still get requests for shipping quotes and invoices.

Maybe it's yet another change to suit buyers using mobile devices. I noticed recently on the iPhone that listings with Best Offer don't show the Best Offer text in search results. A bit pointless if you've got to click on the listing to see that the seller is open to offers.
