edda, if it is the email from paypal telling you that you can still shop using paypal even if you have a 0 balance then it IS from paypal.

I never keep any money in my paypal account and I get these on a regular basis.

It is a known fact that when you forward emails to spoof@paypal/ebay you will get a reply that often is wrong. 

Use your own judgement as to whether you take notice of these emails but always follow the golden rule....NEVER log into your accounts (ebay or paypal) from a link in an email.  At least that way you are not giving any information to a scammer.

I am currently receiving emails to the effect that I have subscribed to some service to the value of GBP178.00.   I haven't, but paypal assures me that the email is genuine....go figure.
