If you're definitely on the Australian ebay site, problems such as this are most frequently caused by a browser loop and can generally be remedied by deleting your browser's cookies and cache before trying again.

I don't know what browser you're using, but IE has several known incompatibilities with ebay and is best replaced with something far more ebay-friendly, such as Firefox or Google Chrome. I use Firefox myself and never have issues such as you describe.
