No, never seen that before. I too, have ebay fees taken out of my Paypal account. (defaults to savings, but I always leave enough in there for fees) I would think eBay prefer to take them that way. 

You just made me think, though I lost my debit card and have just received new  one (with different numbers & expiry date) I will have to update my  payment details on a few places.. because payments will get rejected.
