i think a lot of buyers do not understand the best offer system, heaps wait until the last seconds to buy, like a auction and i have even had a couple that have paid more than the asking price!!.
the thing i don't like about best offer is the sellers that dont let you know if they will except your offer for hours or days later,it stops me from looking for another item so if sellers are not able to check there offers regulary its not a good idea to list that way and yes the other end of the stick is the stupid low offers that some buyers put in that re a waste of time

Best Offer - some sellers might be relisting without taking off the best offer which goes in auto when U relist.
I'm trying not to have best offer on my listings, but do slip up occasionally.
When I did have best offer, I always put a lower limit price on them & an auto price, But I wasn't getting any sales thru best offer either.
I've found that auction & BIN works better, with a quite a few lovely buyers using BIT.

I'm thinking I might change my "Best offer" settings by lowering the auto reject to 1c so I receive email notification of every stupidly low offer I get instead of not finding out until I check manually.
What compels people to offer $40 on an item priced at $160
