Particularly Nasty Competitor

I have a particularly nasty competitor that used to sell what I sell on another account. I changed all my listings to private but still as of last week he can somehow work out not who the sellers are but their total feedback score.

How does he do this and any way I can stop it as he uses to work out who buys it through their scores and then messages them.

There isn't any way as far as I know. Unless he has some outside program that can.

I presume if you know they are sending messages your buyers must be telling you so ask them to report the seller to ebay for unsolicited emails from sellers they are not in a transaction with.

See what a trendsetter I am?

There appears there is some sort of backdoor where he knows.

There is a way to work out who other sellers customers are in particular circumstances. I,m not going to explain it here as it goes against ebays intentions ( which I agree with ) regards coded ID,s. Just saying you are correct that it is possible for one seller to track a competitors customers in certain circumstances..

I'm glad someone else knows which only means sooner or later I will, so thanks for your reply. Without going into the why's and how-to's is there anyway I can close that window that he's getting through?

exdingobloodcollect - I have sent you a private message. Please treat the information as confidential.

Thank you so much chameleon54, if only I could tell you how much help you've been. I'll be spending tomorrow working this one out until I resolve it. I'll let you know how it goes.

Jealous!!! I want to know how it works too!

he is shill bidding his items, eg: at 21:06:14 on 20/9 he has used one of his accounts to push it greater than $89.99 to nibble FB 557 out. I can also list the username as well as their feedback but I currently will not. Until we consolidate 3 months work of data as that is what the aust commission requires to instigate a watertight prosecution case
