Claims in this area are generally dealt with by the civil administrative tribunals in their jurisdictions. 

 

For lower value goods most people represent themselves. 

 

In Vic the cost for applying VCAT to hear a small claim under fair trade or consumer law for goods or services with the value under $500 is around $55.  Claims under $10,000 are around $160.
