Yes, taking the time to walk away and do something else seems to take the sting out of the shocking offer, and also gives me time to think of a suitable reply other than what I would REALLY like to say. And do agree with you absolutely about BO option, there are times that we do move a bit and other times when we don't, many factors can influence our final decision on accepting offer or not.
