I have always advocated 'helping' a buyer who says they did not purchase something by reporting the account as hi-jacked to ebay and letting them know how helpful i have been lol.

I would also never send a mutual cancellation to any buyer unless I had made an error in the listing and was wanting to cancel for my benefit.
