What I'm worried about is, allowing someone to pickup an item, and pay via PP, and then they claim they never got the item, and they ge their money back. It happended to me within my first two months of trading here. I have never allowed it since.

Plus I have had a fair few, not so much as of late, touch wood, of people saying their item never showed up. Mostly on low cost, low sell price items with the cheapest post on them, because of competition, you cant do anything more. I've called their bluff and then I get a response of they found it...

I just wan to know what others do to protect yourself against the OP.

Will eBay back me up if I get their name and licence details? Maybe I should ask them direct to see what response I get...

If they say yeah sure! In writing. I'm all for it. PP is easier than cash for me.

Unfortunately there is a lot of bad people out there, more than the 1% stated. It would depend on the genre of product you are selling also, which would reflect on this too. My products are automotive parts, I get a lot of the younger generation becasue of the products.

I have been in this industry for over 20years now and have seen it all, but not cared so much as I was just an employee. Now I am running my own show, I want to cover my bases in all aspects of this.

This does not take over my life, I have a wife whom already does this...

One of the things I have learnt in the six years of owning my own business is to trust no one..

Yeah there is a **bleep** load of good, honest people out there. Nothing wrong with covering my butt against the scum is there?
