Plated silver is not Sterling silver plated, unless it's old Sheffield plate.
You can't electroplate with Sterling silver.
I think you may be a little confused, mooma.
That's why you can often tell the difference between electroplate and Sheffield plate
Continental and Russian standards aren't 925, either.
All I can say to that is that every time I see solid silver for sale anywhere they refer to it as being 925 (Meaning 92.5% pure) no matter what country it originates from.
I also tinkered around with a bit of silver plating myself a few years back and used a small lump of solid pure silver with the electrode attached to it and that worked just fine, but I'm not into it technically and only did it to see how it worked out in the first place, not to be serious about it.
If you say it's wrong I won't argue with you over it as I don't really care anyway.
