Now that is interesting , seems that a system can be compromised by merely accessing a website, no downloading , no advertisements clicked on. So can there be remote control via a browser . How secure are forums ? If so seems a browser security issue - maybe additional security related extensions required if accessing websites prone to malware scripts or some such ?
Installed an extension for the Firefox browser that lists scripts running when accessing a web page - and one can block scripts
This was useful but i have had to reinstall Windows as my printer would not print for some reason - Ubuntu is immune to normally encountered viral threats ( the vast majority written for Windows) but an inept user as myself has no defense against a targeted hacker attack - just no default apps for detecting infections or blocking infections
Might help the knave if Ubuntu has 2 user logons by default - one high privileged for installing apps and the other really low privileged for normal running of tasks with system support for changes disabled.
