I run Win 8, Malawarebytes and Avast. My computer runs fine, I don't get hacked. But I am not paranoid, and don't play with things that already work, even though I probably have a bit more expertise than you.

Sadly I have encountered very few IT people or those whose consider themselves particularly IT savvy, that are not puffed up .

 

Your personal attack rather than pertenant solution related conversation is quite typical of the breed

 

Anyhow I mention myself being inept so as to indictae that I do not have any pretentions to being " professional" or enterprise qualified in any way . I just seek to canvas some serious concerns in a manner of minimal blowback.

 

Security holes through forums possibly being portals for hackers

Infection through unaurthorised-user installation of malware

Security that does not detect user installed nannyware and does that enable a security hole for net traffic security 

Linux distros lacking default security related apps
