Now that is interesting , seems that a system can be compromised by merely accessing a website, no downloading , no advertisements clicked on. So can there be remote control via a browser . How secure are forums ? If so seems a browser security issue - maybe additional security related extensions required if accessing websites prone to malware scripts or some such ?Fake sites can be accessed if a user is directed to a fake page due to clicking on a link is the most common
scenario where a Trojan or Keylogger could be installed.
That also occurs when users are directed to a fake pay site and can be easily detected by keeping an eye on
the URL and whether it's padlocked for known safe sites.
Very true , i have been caught out a few times ,
anyhow I clean reinstalled 64bit Windows 7 - original oem key - all good now and my printers work
(if one has activation issues with a rejected oem key , scroll down the offered options and select " try a new key" or some such and just input the original key used - seems to correct the problem usually - worth a try anyhow )
Am looking for a retail store that offers new old stock Windows 8 or 8.1 upgrade - i wish MS would include a Windows sticker similar to oem stickers with retail sourced operating systems - informed people note the os version being used and do not observe an expected (by them) coa type sticker so assume is pirated....
Changed security as the previous app had a glitch whereby it was blocking a component of itself.
Am using an app called boot racer to time booting - i like to keep an eye on booting times - suddenly much longer could indicate a newly installed large parasite added to startup apps or ram memory module has failed..., much sorter time could indicate a virus that has disabled security that is normally launched at startup ( not so many apps being launched at startup so booting time reduces alot)
