We are about to get another electrical storm. For some reason our house, which is at the peak of the street, always seems to get zapped by lightening and we have a real problem with the modem and the phone lines getting fried. The big problem is that if we disconnect the computer and modem then we lose the Norton anti virus programme. We have been told by Norton not to disconnect the power. So it seems our choices are to keep Norton or to keep computer and modem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We have had three modems replaced in the past 3 months and it is costing a fortune as neither warranty nor insurance cover a lightning hit.
