Mechanical is also plug n play without having to install software.
(apparently some Razor products have probs)
If not for gaming he says any well known brand is fine. Most brands have backlit keyboards, maybe not in red.
hi Kopes - I did do some research and found mechanical vs membrane - but didn't know about digital? When I asked my computer man today, he didn't know the difference - had a guess that a mechanical one pressed onto metal plate to register the key strokes whereas a membrane one pressed onto like a continuous pad under the key???/ (I think - )
How do I know which is which? It's not written on the box, I don't think?
On the Black Widow we had to install software, but on this one - the Stalker we didn't? Just plugged it in?
What's a well known brand Kopes? Around here, my choices seemed to be the razor or logitek - I did have another one initially, was only about $60 that a friend got for me - it was brilliant, but it got wet and spat the dummy, no idea what brand it was, but it came from Melbourne.
Do you think it would be possible for your friend to have a look on eBay or somewhere and show me one he recommends? please?
I really did like the Black Widow, maybe cos I was just used to it? (only had this one for a few hours) but it just kept breaking! The boy on the store (a gaming geek) said he had never had this complaint before, that I was the only one!
Some people can go their whole lives and never really live for a single minute.
