See this board isn't visited much but will give it a try.

I have upgraded to Windows 10, all went well until I realised that I had been infected with the dreaded safesearch.net monster that takes over browsers and only allows them to open with the safesearch search page. Having googled it there are dozens of  so called ways to get rid of it, some of them talking about things I don't have a clue about. I have tried all the ones I could work through to no avail.  The only browser not infected is the new microsoft edge browser.

Anyone know a dummies guide to getting rid of the darned thing?
