I contacted that seller - they were quite rude. The other seller was more responsive and changed the listing to exclude barsony and vintage - and sold for a resonable $132. I noticed a number of Hawaiian figures which had paintwork not up to standard on skirt and other features suspect despite FL 27 - sure enough one seller has listed as reproduction. I hope this will alert buyers.

BTW I thought it was not allowed to put item numbers on the forum

its allowed as long as you can get away with it. if someone selling these items came along they may report the post, at which point you are no longer getting away with it 🙂

My H-40 lamp has a flat base with the number impressed on the back. They base is not painted and a plain white. I have had it for years so I know it wouldn't have been one of the  recent fakes that are doing the rounds. Cheers Billy

I don't know how the quote ended up like that?

Regarding flat bases the head lamps might be all flat when the numbers are impressed on the back compared to the other ones. Does anyone else have head lamps to compare?

Cheers Billy

Beware.....The hawaian girl is now copied and being sold as original barsony. I think they are Fl-27 stamped. Some vendors are selling them honestly as reproductions which is ok but i see a few now being sold as original.... Even with a few scuff marks There is a difference in the painting of the skirt and the base markings. At the moment they are being sold without wiring and lamp connections. Also .... There seems to be way too many white dots around the ashtray. When placing the originals against the reproduction. It's easy to spot

The best way to deal with this is to hit the report button.

There seemed to be a lot of flamenco dancers and ballerinas at the markets today. Does anyone know if these are also being copied?

I was thinking the same thing too. The flamenco dancers of recent look perfect but are coupled with slightly damaged shades. Hard to say if they are copies? Maybe the number for sale is a reflection of what people are prepared to pay for them. Maybe someone else can tell us

Cheers

Hi There,

I came across one of the fake Hawaiian's in an antique shop in the blue mountains over the weekend.

I ran over to it when I saw the $55 price tag, however, as soon as I picked it up I could tell something wasn't quite right.

As a few others had previously mentioned, there are no fittings. I also noticed the base seems to split in half (whereas the authentic ones dont). And there are far to many bubbles/lines under the black paint near the toes, and the side of the lady (I have attached a picture to try and show what I mean). Very hard to tell in pictures on the listings, so if unsure of what you're bidding is the real deal, request pictures of the base, feet and side to see what they look like.

Is this the latest repro/ fake ????

I would like to know which are real, there is a heck of alot up atm.

The other week i saw one that had bids on up around the $530 mark,i hope it was real coz it looked awfully NEW!
