Hi Kopes,

Many thanks for buying in and trying to help out. Very much appreciated.

Any suggestions as to how much I should ask for it? Keeping in mind that fees will have to be built in. 😞

Sorry to keep pestering you all. I really have no idea.

It is a difficult one.

This - MOP - Black Wood - Brass - is going for $47.76

From the same site - the one Twyn posted $82.01

Both look to have had the brass freshened a little.

I think you are going to have to decide - given - it's very Deco - unusual - what you would accept for it.

Thanks dom, It's so hard.... and right out of my areas of expertise (not that there are many of them 😀).

I'll procrastinate for a while and do a bit more research using new words and see if it brings me any closer.

Whatever happens, I  really do appreciate everyone' time and help. I have another one belonging to the same lady too, a wide silver one.

We'd - I would like to see that one also. 😉

Are you selling as an auction? I always start my jewellery as an auction. Personally I don't think it is any older than 1980s - MOP can be dyed any colour. Bear in mind many of those prices are what is being asked. If it was mine I would start at $25, but as you have to build in your fees, perhaps $35. It is an attractive design. I would not "freshen" the brass - many buyers prefer the oxidised metal look. Good luck.

Hi Siddie,

Many thanks for joining in.  I'm pretty sure it's older than 1980, judging by the age of the lady who owned it and knowing of her latter years but I have no proof of that, so I'm really just guessing. I certainly don't have the knowledge that you people do, so please don't think I'm being argumentative. You could be 100% correct.

No, I don't intend trying to freshen it or clean it up in case I damage it; I plan to sell it 'as is'.

Once again, thank you for trying to help me. I value your time and input and appreciate it very much.

Hi all, I haven't forgotten you. Been very busy.

I'm going to list it tomorrow and have decided to go with an fixed price with offer. I can see why Siddie suggested an auction, but I haven't done an auction for a very long time and they can be a bit of an unknown.

Thank you all once again for your contribution. Very much appreciated.

but I haven't done an auction for a very long time and they can be a bit of an unknown.

Not if you start your auction at the same price you were going to do as BIN.

Either one person bids and wins, in effect the same as a BIN or a few others may chime in and the price increases. If someone buys it on a BIN very soon after it's listed, you always wonder what it may have done in an auction.

Food for thought. 😊

Yes. I've sort of been arguing with myself about it. I was going to lust it at a higher price and see if any offers came in and go from there.

I'm still very nervous about what price to put on it. 😕
