Another Curly Question

I have a figurine of a bird - photos attached - which has a felted bottom - my question is - would you remove the felt to look for an indication of who the maker is?

I'm run to an end of possibilities.

it is handbuilt from a heavy bodied, earthenware clay...14.5cms tall.

and it's just the ugliest little bird sculpture I've ever seen..

felted bottom

You could remove half way and refit.

But to me that looks like something someone has done in a class or short course.

If so, a good chance it will just have their initials with a year.

I tend to agree with Kopes.

The base looks too crude to be from any good pottery.

But I'd still be tempted to remove and refit the felt, just for a look.

I like the way you think.. 🙂

thanks for your responses.. 🙂
