I had a similar issue in that I am a sole trader with a registered business name and a bank account in the business name. I was able to have my bank supply a comfirmation of account letter which was accepted after some discussion with eBay. It's not an identical problem but you may be able to do something along those lines.

The eBay justification is that they need to be certain that the funds are going to the eBay account holder so a possible alternative may be to open a bank account in your name then transfer everything through to the business account.

I also managed to talk to eBay representatives earlier this month by using the Have us call you option at the bottom of the managed payments help page.
