I had phone call today from what sounded like "ebay security" about some suspicious purchase made on my account. I couldn't understand a word this Indian was saying. In the end I had to end the call. If you have a security issue as I do, my details and credit card have been hacked on amazon PLEASE put someone on the job who can speak ENGLISH
Tony. Ebayer since 2006, but I'm not sure how much longer.

So you have been hacked on Amazon. I'm not sure how that would reflect on eBay.
Maybe if you have security issues, fix them. Complaining on eBay about Amazon issues certainly isn't relevant.

So you get a scam phone call that many others here have gotten, but you only want scammers who speak English to ring you or you will leave eBay
And then you abuse people who tell you it is a scam and ask a valid question?
Nice

Yes, it sounds like a scam. Ebay also sends an email before making a phone call, and the email will also be in the eBay messages on the eBay site, which confirms its legitimacy. https://www.ebay.com.au/help/account/protecting-account/recognising-phishing-phone-calls-emails?id=4...

I am not sure, but maybe they got the OP's phone number from the hacked Amazon account, then they just tried to hack their eBay account too by using that phone number and asking for details of their eBay account (please confirm this or that). That's what scammers usually do at least. They probably didn't even know if the OP had an eBay account, but they "tried".

I wouldn't put the OP's response as abuse. He had a phone call which was suspicious and sounded like it was from eBay. He's only mentioned that had a previous problem with Amazon. Quite right to mention that as well even if the two may be unrelated. The second reply to him wasn't helpful or pleasant.

So far pml, your replies are the only ones that make the best sense. You're courteous as well.
