No understand

I had phone call today from what sounded like "ebay security" about some suspicious purchase made on my account. I couldn't understand a word this Indian was saying. In the end I had to end the call. If you have a security issue as I do, my details and credit card have been hacked on amazon PLEASE put someone on the job who can speak ENGLISH

Tony. Ebayer since 2006, but I'm not sure how much longer.

Re: No understand

Since it is highly advised never to give out any personal information to random callers, regardless of where they claim they are calling from, please do not fall for this should you receive another call.

I highly doubt there is a department called "Ebay security", that would actually call people.

There are multiple scams going around whereby a person has been called by "Ebay", for example, in relation to a suspicious purchase, and they encouraging the person to  confirm or deny they have been scammed. When the person tries to do this, they are asked for a ton of personal information "in order to identify themselves", and after which the scammer now has enough info to wreak havoc in their lives.

I always ignore any calls from anyone who is not in my contact list. If they are genuine and they need to get hold of me, they will leave a message.
