Sandypebbles - It's a legitimate tech support question as apparently others can see seller information just fine according to various posts in these forums.

I was really hoping people who are experienced users of ebay and ebay tech support would be able to tell me how to get that information to appear rather than just saying the equivalents of "Stop whinging" or "Mine's okay, here is what it looks like, so I'm alright Jack" and paradoxically compared to the latter point "Ebay changed it so that's that get used to it".

 

As an aboriginal Australian I'm used to getting pretty poor treatment but I would suggest to you that rather than fobbing people off you try and see how this makes ebay pretty unusuable for many potential customers trawling through hundreds of listings looking for the right things to buy. Is there a sudden influx of customers to ebay now after reducing the information available to them?


In any event, it seems that some people are incapable of seeing how ineffective and time consuming it is to try and sort through hundreds of listings of car parts (for example) looking for genuine sellers, genuine parts etc, trying to sift through local vs overseas fakes etc etc etc when there are no seller details or locations (EVEN THE COUNTRY THEY'RE IN) coming up AT ALL in my search results and I have done everything suggested to no avail. I'm also totally blown away that several people are incapable of seeing how NOT being able to see where a seller is located in relation to the customer is a major issue. Do you not look for products that are close to you in order to get them QUICKER? What about buy local? Haven't you ever done that in your life?? Or is this forum just dominated by sellers who don't even buy stuff on their own platform?? Judging by the language used by some people it would seem they rarely use ebay to search through voluminous listings to find the niche things they need.

I also note the rather unusual response of "Who cares you are covered by ebay's buyer guarantee", which takes no account WHATSOEVER of the incredible stuff-around a person gets waiting for an item to get to their home which is then totally unsuitable and then has to be returned leaving you without the part or item you need and the extra time and rubbish to return it. Again sounds more like a typical Seller-centric response rather than a Customer-centric response.

I am incredibly surprised by all of it. I expected a lot more. But I guess this is the current wonderful state of ebay and modern Australia.

Thank you however to the people here and there in this overall forum who have been constructive and helpful. You are becoming rarer.

PS - I'm disgusted with ebay's/Khoros's staff complete ignoring of people they know to be indigenous, especially when someone has gone to great and frustrating lengths to seek support after being a long time supporter of ebay. I'm extremely disappointed that I am unable to use ebay anywhere as much and as effectively as I used to be able to, and that changes that have made it completely time-INeffective for me have been done without even listening or barely responding in the slightest to my concerns. I can't use ebay properly the way it is currently and I've had to make alternate arrangements. Should ebay bring back features that make searching through hundreds of dross listings to find the diamonds-in-the-rough easier, I look forward to returning.
