You'll always get better help in the forums compared to the CS reps who are paid minimum wage in developing countries, who have probably never sold anything on Ebay themselves and who can't handle anything more than the most basic of enquiries.

Ebay has had a lot of glitches this week, perhaps a bit more than usual.

I normally try a different browser when things go a bit twitchy, which often helps.
