It is actually an old scam.

They want you to give them your details to "fix the problem" (although of course the problem does not exist).

As you hung up (I hope without giving them any details), you should be safe.

They don't even know if you have an eBay account. They just try.

No money has been taken out of bank accounts when they call, but sadly quite often people believe the scammers and then give them all their details to get the money back that was never taken out of their account in the first place.
