OP, I can’t fathom why you thought that the original replies were in any way rude.

Clearly the intention was to be helpful. The wording was not offensive. Suggesting you try another browser to see if that works with the suggested settings is the very opposite of rudeness.

The result of your taking offence where none was intended is that other board responders are themselves put off and no longer wish to offer suggestions to you.

At the risk of seeming rude myself, I can only suggest that you may want to re-read those initial replies without looking for offence, and if you agree that perhaps you overreacted, an apology would go a long way towards restoring goodwill and getting things onto an even keel.

If you stand by your original perspective, then all I can say is that I hope you can work out the dark setting you desire.
