There's only so many gadgets I can fit in my kitchen.

It's so small, I have to leave the room to change my mind

The liner is ceramic.  Don't trust that on a flame

I wouldnt either.

I find slow cookers to be so hit and miss. I did a mild curried chicken in it last week, cooked all day while I was at work. Got home on a real winters evening to find the house all nice and warm and smelling fantastic. Mild chicken had NO taste. As if the taste just evaporated into the smell. At other times I can get something out of the slow cooker that doesnt look flash, or smell great but tastes wonderful.

Don't people do stovetop cooking these days?  I use my cooktop all the time, can't be bothered owing a zillion different appliances to cook food in, they take up to much room lol

Secondary school cooking class in the late 1960's -

Pea and Ham Soup in a Pressure Cooker , exploded onto the  vermiculite-sprayed ceiling.   I don't know how the cleaner dealt with the mess.

Actually, thinking back.....Thursday was the fridge/vege box cleanout day prior to Friday's weekly shop.  All the limp veges were rounded up, chopped, sliced, and diced for the best soup; the bones/giblets  of chickens having been made into stock previously.   A shake of Worcestershire sauce and it was tickety-boo.  C'Mon winter.

lol, I got rid of a stack of appliances recently. I find that it saves power using the appliances rather than the stove top and I have solar which we get a good rebate for, so tend to not use my grid power during daylight hours.

(plus I don't really enjoy cooking anymore)

Wok, kettle, coffee machine, toaster, pressure cooker, soup maker and sandwich grill press. That's it!

The new pressure cookers ' don't explode'.

My Aunts one years ago did, and my Mum was pretty nervous using hers after that.

Woman LOL I don't like soup, don't eat bread and have no idea what I would cook in a pressure cookerWoman LOL

I don't like electric cooktops, much prefer gas  ..... As for cost, it really doesn't bother me

Currently I own a kettle, toaster, steamer, turbo oven and rice cooker that's enough for me

everything!!! I might do shanks on the weekend for family! I am environmentally responsible. 🙂

boris - you can cook meat like corned silverside in a pressure cooker and it takes a lot less time to cook, than cooking it in a saucepan.

Handy, for people who work full time.
