Sorry sin, but that one's all wrong for aussie rissoles

This is what they're supposed to look like

http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/17475/rissoles

purps, I use 1/2 & 1/2 minced beef and sausage mince

grated carrot, fried chopped onions & garlic, squirt tomato sauce,

worcester sauce and milk so they don't dry out and keeps them tender

I never use egg - makes them tough

I then coat in panko bread crumbs before frying

Never had a bad one yet             happy emoticon

I'm gonna try those rissoles too. Thanks.

Low fat beef mince is quite expensive here, there are families that can't afford that or any unprocessed meat.

Stir fry mince is just wrong! Chow mien, yes.

POV,hon. just like everything in life. i was taught to adapt,to improvise, and to overcome ANY kind of diversity.

but i still have to relearn that,on a daily basis. it's part of life, you know?  i'm not rich, never will be,and don't actually WANT to be.

rich people never seem to understand what being HAPPY really is..i pity them, honestly.

we may not have much to spend, but we ENJOY what we CAN spend, other than paying the bills!

and i don't buy low fat ground beef. i simply COOK it properly. the fat ratio for low fat beef,well...it doesn't TASTE good, generally.

sorry.i AM poor,i know how to SHOP poor, and COOK poor.

and i'll continue that when i get a job. we like GOOD food, not expensive food.

taste my religion! nibble a witch! 😄

I was only pointing out some families can't afford meat and that includes mince. When I was younger "poor" people ate mince, not the case now, it is too expensive. So whether they are good cooks, savvy shoppers etc is irrelevant, they can't afford to buy meat.

Low fat mince is better for our health (heart).

we've been there too. pasata and beans have always been my friends.

Yeah, I used to buy lamb shanks for the cat fgs!!

Now look at the price

The cats got the mince when I was a child. The dogs/cats got the lamb shanks. (Dad was a sheep farmer).

sorry. PASTA.

and beans. and rice. and potatoes. and gleaning from people's fields. you do what you can to live.

and then you HELP when you can. i'm still broke, but i have connections that help ME. and the folks in my life. i always will.

Around where we live we have industrial areas with butcher shops selling meat cheaper than supermarkets. Check your local newspaper you might find a gem nearby. The deals are usually pretty good.
