secondhand-wonderland, can I ask which town you live in? I am in Traralgon.
Cavaliers, I love your dogs. We have one cavalier and she is the most gentle little dog.
I have a sister-in-law at Maroopna and she joined U32A (University of the Third Age). She does painting but they cover lots of activities. I know they have craft, computers and more. That would be a good place to meet with others.
Make enquiries, they could have a friendship group as well. I know there is one here.
As the others said, just come on line and join in - and if your OH wants to be anti-social, leave him to his own devices and make a life for yourself.

Always a chance of getting mugged.
Take the dogs - preferably with those butch studded collars.
