Though, if you wash stockings or tights in acid then you'd get that punky grunge look in an instant.

I've been rinsing my clothes in vinegar for years.
Never had a problem
Besides that, how is it that it's a food product if it burns holes?

To Stawka: not uncomfortable if it fits and is well made from a decent material. Not had any static cling.
Where are they stocked: every major department store, even Target sells suspender belts and stockings.
They are not out of fashion. There are many brands, colours and price ranges.

"Food products" cause all sorts of damage. Just ask anyone who lives on diet pepsi and krispy kremes. Or rather, ask their doctor. 😉

Stockings? Not since pantyhose came in thanks lol.
I wear pantyhose to work everyday, with my work outfits.
Weekends I wear jeans, no socks or stockings. Winter I might wear anklets or footlets for a bit of extra warmth.
Never have any problems with static. I always use fabric softener in the final rinse.

No,not many. While they are still able to be bought from stores, they are not worn by many as everyday wear.
Vinegar in the washing machine rinse does no harm to the clothes or linen. The whole rinse isn't in vinegar, just a portion added to the rinsing water.

As a bank robber I and my accomplice share a pair of black ultra sheer tockings, we prefer the suspender type as the self hold up ones tend to be too tight around the throat, restricting the airway.
