How many ladies wear stockings for everyday wear these days? I suspect not many

Lolling here. Suspender belts? I gave up wearing stockings, panty hose, knee highs, footlets bloomin decades ago. Got sick of falling over trying to put them on.

Stockings and suspender belts - never wore those.  As for the rest....I'm with katymatey.  Only in my case I got sick of putting them on...and having my big toe (nail) promptly go right through them. Smiley Frustrated

Re: Stockings

i used to wear suspender belts and stockings cos they are more comfy than pantyhoses/tights. when you need a pee you don't have to pull the tights down and up again.

i don't wear them anymore because they stick to dresses and i can't be bothered to spray anti-static all over myself every 1/2 hour. don't even know where to buy that stuff here.

Re: Stockings

When you wash your clothes, do the final rinse with white vinegar.

That works.   And no,  your clothes don't smell like vinegar.

Re: Stockings

You can buy that anti stat spray in places like Bras n Things. I don't usually (as in almost never) wear dresses in summer so stockings and pantyhose are not needed.

In winter I like woollen dresses but then it's tights, not stockings.

I think stockings for everyday wear went out in the early 1970's approx. Replaced by pantyhose.

They only went out of fashion when poor old Nora Batty passed away in 2008.

Sexy eh ?

Re: Stockings

we have a very low humidity here in SA. maybe i should shave my legs mmmhhh you think that makes a difference?

bras n things must be in the city i guess....errhhh bought my last bras a year ago in a goodwill shop (new) because it was only $7 and reasonably comfy, posted a pic of it here then after joz requested it.

i hate buying bras or shoes. when i find one that is comfy i buy a few so i don't have to buy more ever again.

found comfy shoes bought about 5-7 pairs (not sure how many, never counted them) 10 or so years ago. i still have one or two pairs i have never worn and keep them in a plastic bag for when the other ones wear out.

i was thinking if spotlight may have anti static spray but sine your advices i think i just go with the vinegar wash and the baby powder.

Re: Stockings

Probably even supermarkets have it now but I haven't checked.  See if you can find it in amongst the washing powder aisle.

Re: Stockings

Vinegar is acetic acid. I used to burn holes in my clothes when I spilled acid from my motorbike's battery on them.

Rinsing your clothes in acid, somehow doesn't seem like a repice for longevity. Maybe you should buy your dresses by the carton if you're going to go down that road.
