if the paint is thick it might flake if the page is folded but just turning the page shouldn't hurt. I'm really not sure though.

I tried finding my little water colour book today.  I know I have a flower in it and i was going to cheat and use it for The Flower, but I can't find it.

I can't draw flowers πŸ˜ž but I am trying.

Used to be able to draw horses and even they aint looking like they should. *sigh*

We won't mention the attempts at the cats, mind you, they aint the best models in the world, the beggars keep moving............... :^O:^O:^O

Moonlight, I have not used acrylics much. They dry too quickly for me. I prefer oil paints, but if you google "Painting with acrylics" you'll get heaps of information, even free downloads from some artists.

Like pimpy said, I don't think the paint will peel off the paper once it is dry.

Pimpy, keep looking for that book. You have another nine days to find it. πŸ˜‰

Cuddlycats, find a drawing of a flower on google and print it out, then colour it in whatever medium you prefer. It is only an excercise in painting for us and no competition. Have fun and enjoy the hobby.

Here is the painting I started a while ago and then put it away. Had trouble with my eyesight for almost two years. So, after surgery and new glasses, I want to finish a dozend jobs before I go completely blind.

Now, the question is - will I finish the painting or start a single flower for our excercise?

Have fun everyone. I'll be back tomorrow.

Good Night All!

Erica :-x

The exercise need not be all about painting. People can draw a flower, or paint, or craft a flower.

pimp, better find the book soon. 8 days left. πŸ˜‰

cuddlycats, I am so glad that you are onboard with this excerise. Don't give up, your drawing will improve. πŸ™‚ I'll be drawing a cat as part of the flower exercise. Yes, flowers will also be involved. πŸ˜› I need a break from watercolours, so will be using coloured pencils.

Erica, that's a nice looking painting.

Hi all,

haven't been up to much painting lately but hoping to start the flower tomorrow.

moonlight, acrylics need a stronger support than sketching paper.  You can buy pads suitable at the cheap shops, it's usually made of coated paper or canvas  You can just use cardboard like from a cereal packet or box, just give it a coat of white paint first.  Don't use the shiny side though. or use wood like a sheet of Masonite etc  you can use house paint on it first as long as it's water based.

I'm looking forward to seeing your finished painting Erica and cuddly, don't stress about it..just have fun.

I think you need to start a new painting skwerl LOL πŸ˜›

Well I know for sure I am no good with watercolours. Was trying today, cracked it and was packing up, then decided to just chuck blobs of paint down, then wet paper towel and rubbed it over the paint, then did a quick sketch.

This is the result................
