Curse this drought!

I used to have a soft spot for the kind of people who necessitated my having such a thing, but now it's little better than a dust bowl.

Somehow "I've got a desolate, parched spot for people like that" doesn't sound quite as good... ha ha...

🙂

I have found I am very much looking forward to summer.

I found a $50 note and a beautiful dried flower, inside a book

I found a collection of foreign notes, different currencies and denominations in a book once. I don't think they where anything special, but interesting all the same.

I purchased a box of very old books at an auction a few years ago. Amongst the books was a very large, beautifully embossed leather family bible dating from around 1850. It was one of those with brass clasps and Gustave Dore type colour illustrations.

Inside the bible was a collection of antique paper dolls with period paper costumes, probably dating from the early 1900's. These where very nice, but the bible also contained a number of birth certificates, christening certificates and wedding certificates from the late 1800,s to around 1930. The bible was obviously very special to a family many years ago.

That was a great find, but an even better find was researching and tracking down a family member who was very interested in the family history and purchased the bible for a modest price. The money wasn't important, it was just nice to reunite the book with its rightful family.

A few days ago as I was walking into town to the shops I came across a plastic money bag containing a few grams of a sort of beige coloured rough looking powder. I didn't pick it up though, I just left it where it was in case its owner came back looking for it.

Stepped off the bus and found a ring
With a four diamond setting but one is missing.
My girlfriend saw me pick something up and after a short scuffle she got it out of my hand.
She won't take it to the police station and with only my non dominant to try and get it back off of her with the strong possibility that she will hurt my sorr arm I can't do anything about it.
She has no empathy for the person that has lost it.

Sore not sorr.
Stupid phone has a strange spell check.
It's more concerned in putting a capital letter at the start of words rather than correcting spelling

Did the RAM have work experience kids working there in 2000?

That's the same year as the mule dollar.

(I have a 2000 dollar coin, but it's not a mule, sadly)

The 2007 five cent pieces with two obverses are a worse mistake than the $1 mule
