I just sanitise my hands upon entrance. There's always a staff member there wiping the trolley handles down. I wash my hands again when I get home and unpack.

 

 I never even thought about the screen at the self-serve.

 

I don't get too paranoid about it.

 

I have a little sanitiser dispenser hanging on a key ring off the side of my handbag.

I'm a Virgo, so everything I buy is usually a spare, or a spare spare  hahaha

So fridge stuff gets a wipe down, I wash my hands,  and the rest of the bags sit on the kitchen floor for 3 days to allow the virus to die off.

i've got motoring magazine spares, Hmmm

That is good to read of - such serious mitigation should reduce the Flu as well

There are currently only about 144 active cases of the virus in Victoria.

I'm not saying that is great, but realistically, you've more chance of catching something else than of catching the virus.

Yet how often did people worry last year? I'll tell you, most of them didn't.

They went through self serve or handled cash and no one wiped anything down.

I remember thinking when bringing your own bags became compulsory, that asking check out operators to use them and pack was unhygienic, but no one else seemed to care about it. They do now.

Personally, I think all you can do is be a bit sensible. Wash your hands after shopping. Not everyone has sanitiser. I haven't seen any for many weeks. But to some extent, whether you are exposed to the virus will come down to the luck of the draw.

If you've been shopping, maybe leave the bags outside or rotate through them so you don't use the same bags again for a few days.

Some of the good things to come about through all this are the shops don't seem as crowded, people keep out of your way and I don't think sick people or people with normal coughs or colds would be as game to go out to the shops now, spreading their other germs.

My reusable bags go straight into a bucket of laundry powder disinfectant to soak, rinse and hang out to dry. I have always done that, so my bags are always fresh and clean for the next time I shop. I dont own hand sanitiser,  nor have I tried to buy any, good 'ol sunlight soap is good enough for hubs and me to use to wash our hands. I have kept a pack of hand wipes in the car, so nothing new there.

It's all just basic hygiene which mmost of us have done all our lives 

I put my re-useable bags in the washing maching along with the wihites.

Then I hang them in the sun, and when they're thoroughly dry, I put them in the boot of my car for the next shop.

Nah, they won't be sterile, but they're clean.

Clean is all we need,
