Why are you still using Glyphosate when there are alternatives.

While there are alternatives for home garden use, the only alternatives in the commercial setting are much worse than Roundup. The next cab off the rank after Roundup is Paraquat, a truly horrible chemical I wont touch.

Farmers need to control large woody weeds such as Blackberries the size of buses, yellow broom bushes, Hoarhound and 1.5 metre high wooly thistles that the natural , organic hand pump sprayers sold in Bunnings would not even look at.

Not exactly a novice - with ??? acres for adjisting horses - for the past 25 years.

Blackberry - Lantana etc.

There are some people / organisations who will throw the "Tin foil hat" insult at anti-pollution campaigners and people opposed to the use of agri-chemicals such as Roundup etc.. In the media the people who oppose or question the use of agri-chemicals are discredited with this conspiracy theorist tin-foil tag nonsense just as someone who questions or opposes the addition of fluoride to our water. . So chameleon54 was correct in the quotation.

Been gardening. ??? LOL

Cham is obviously not ' opposed ' to use - he's using.

You laughed too soon. I know chameleon uses the stuff.

So - where's the ' tin foil hat '.

What would farmers have done pre- pesticides.

Perhaps chained the offending growth to the back of their tractors and pulled them out roots and all ?

Round up is a threat to the world honey bee populations , it destroys friendly bacteria in their gut,  reducing their immunity and shortening their lifespan.

Without bees,  large scale food production would not  be possible .

Varying reports on the hazards of products depends on where the funding is coming from.

Hacked at it by hand - and probably used fire.

Pre-pesticides - they probably didn't have a tractor.

Tell that to Cham - he uses it.

Have another look - there is plenty of info out there to choose from - not much of it in this instance is tin hat stuff.

It is a choice to use it or an alternative - but perhaps convenience is a factor.

Or cost?  It is cheaper to use?  I don't know, just wondering.

Could be Bright - but if the cost outweighs the health issues - and the environmental issues ?????
