Real platypuses are very, very shy and shun both humans and the light because they are nocturnal creatures and in zoos for example they always ask to avoid flashes where platypuses are. It is very difficult to spot them apart from some movement on the surface of the water, so you know they are there. They certainly aren't cuddly, but I still love them and I even feel a bit like a platypus. 😂
But you are right, it is cute, that's what I thought too, and I think also cleverly done, with the short beak that gives it a smiling appearance. I don't think it is for sale though. 🙂 In Sydney you can find Aussie plush animals for a few dollars if you want a platypus. They are not as cute but they look more real and are really cheap.
