Looking at the 3 other bidders (all with 0 feedback), 2 of them have 100% activity with the seller, and the 3rd 63%...
Yes, just open the case. As I said before, the seller has 3 business days to reply and if they really sent the item it should have arrived by the end of the 3 days anyway, as it was due to arrive today. If it doesn't arrive in the next 3 days and the seller keeps not responding, then the reality of a possible scam will become even clearer and you can go ahead and ask eBay to step in and you will get your money back because without tracking and no reply to your messages or the case you will get your money back 100%.

Is there anyway I could get a hold of his email? Or through the Item not received thingo does ebay send one to him on their own? Im also maybe thinking he just hasn't been on ebay since the it got sold possibly

Gee, wish I'd mentioned that - oh wait, I did, hours ago.
He's sold his one and only item. He doesn't know he has to upload tracking. He doesn't know he has to mark it posted, or check for messages.
I still say cut the guy some slack.

@brandan - there's one of two scenarios here.
You're either dealing with a completely naive seller who does not know how to give any level of customer service, or your'e dealing with a scammer.
Emailing the seller won't help your cause. If they're a scammer, they'll either not answer, or they'll tell you anything to appease you. What do you think messaging the seller will do at this point?
There's no reason to panic as you have paid through PP and you'll just need to let things play out over the next day or so.
