Possible scam

Hey everyone I won a bid on a ps5 digital last sunday and bought it for $780 with $20 postage through paypal. The seller was in contact with me and responded very fast on the last day of the bidding but the day after I saw he did not mark it as posted yet to I tried to get in contact with him and have done that everyday since. Today is when its meant to come and still very worried and my anxiety is going through the roof. He used his account once last year and that was it. Anyone know when I should go for a dispute??

Re: Possible scam

Just remember that you actually have to ask eBay to step in if the seller does not respond to the case.

Someone recently had their case closed just because they thought it would be automatic. It is not automatic (I think it is with PayPal, but not with eBay). Read eBay's email after you open a case and note when they say they can step in if the seller does not reply, but remember that you have to *ask* them to step in...

Re: Possible scam

If it does turn up, make sure everything works and is in proper order before you rush to repay.

As I say, you will have no recourse if a problem develops, so best to test the system as much as you can.

Re: Possible scam

Yes, particularly considering the seller bought the item in September of last year for shipment in 2021, and after waiting so long he wants to sell it after just a week. There could be many reasons of course, but it is certainly better to check everything is fine before paying the seller again in case the item arrives.

Ive done some reading and read that the estimate delivery date is not at all accurate but that was from a few years ago is that still the case?

Re: Possible scam

The estimated delivery date has always been a 'best case guess' inserted by eBay based on Australia Post's estimates

Re: Possible scam

No, it is not accurate, but they have recently extended it so that people don't open a case too soon.

Do you live far from the seller?

Re: Possible scam

It still remains - the parcel would have tracking.

There is none - it hasn't arrived - put in the INR.
