Ahhh, Merbein! The northern most town in Victoria, home of an early reference to the indigineous game that is widely believed to be basis of Aussie Rules, the home of the Great Vanilla Slice Triumph each year in August, the town named after the hill referred to by loacal Aboriginals as Merebin . . . but when the registration papers for town naming were filled in the spot where the proposed name was to be inserted the town official mis-spelt it and put Merbein instead of Merebin . . . . nope, never heard of it!
I was going to offer that tidbit of information, re Merbein and the postcode,
but deemed it worthless
