As far as I know, I've never posted anything from any of those sites Joe, I believe strongly in personal privacy and wouldn't do that on principal. If you believe I have, I give permission for you to post the evidence here.
I was merely pointing out that the very reason you were quoting for why these sites should not be allowed, is one of the reasons why people use posting IDs. Privacy on the internet is a bit of an oxymoron. The first rule of the internet, and the one thing all parents should be impressing on their children when they start using the net, is that you should never give out personal information. That is why eBay gives us the option to protect our privacy by using an anonymous posting ID. As someone who has been stalked online, had my private life made public, and had a tissue of lies spread about me and been subjected to a long running tirade of email abuse and bullying, I very much appreciate the option to keep my trading and my forum activity separate.
