You are not alone in hating the DSGs (dreadful scrolling galleries). From personal experience and from reading the boards for more years than I care to admit it is obvious that they are something sellers love and think buyers will like when in actual fact buyers hate the awful things. 

I go so far that if one loads at the top of the listing I hit the back button before getting any further down the page. Ebay will be doing buyers a great favour if they get rid of them. As a seller I relish the thought of other sellers displaying them as it probably means fewer buyers for those sellers.
