You sold your car yesterday......how can you have been trying to contact the winner for days.

There is no indication yet that you have a non paying bidder.   The winner has 4 days to contact you before you can open a non paying bidder dispute.

It would help if you were not so impatient.

I'm wondering if this person means Friday week ago, not yesterday.( otherwise it does not make sense)

If I'm right & the sale was made Friday week ago, then the buyer is not interested. I wouldn't even bother trying to get their details. Open unpaid item dispute & move on. Perhaps relist elsewhere as well.

If the sale really only was this Friday then I'd be getting ready to swing into action if you don't hear from them by the end of Sunday. I think anyone who won an auction for a car would normally contact within 24 hours if interested.

You are right. It does not make sense. The rooster ( shanerooster67 ) sold a Holden ute yesterday. ( nice ute too ) Shane, unfortunately cars attract huge numbers of tire kickers and time wasters on ebay. And Holden buyers are definately the worst !!! ( true ). They are so bad we have a special name for them in our house, but I cant repeat it here......Smiley Wink

It is normal to auction a car 3 or 4 times before you actually get some-one who has the cash available and is prepared to actually part with it and pick up the car. It is also normal for the price to drop a bit each time the same vehicle gets auctioned as genuine buyers and the time wasters tire of seeing the same car sold time and time again, only to re-appear a week later.

Having said that I have eventually sold every car & motorbike I have offered on ebay and have always been satisfied with the price. You just need the patience of a saint.

Probably worth mentioning, there is a nice man in Nigeria who contacts me every time I list a car. He promises to pay double what the car is worth and organise the freight, but he just needs me to pay for a the courier to pick the car up as he doesnt have an Australian bank account. Its OK though as he will repay me with direct credit to my bank account for the courier and give me $200 extra for my trouble once his courier has the car. I just need to give him my bank details and personal information for the transfer........Smiley Happy

Aww, it's OK now.  They got him (or one of 'em, at least)

I think that'd apply to selling a car just about anywhere!

If they bought a car sight unseen on ebay then I don't think I'd ever expect them to actually go through with it.

Springy you have been on ebay and around these boards as long as I have......don't you know how to check when an item was sold?

why would I state that the OP sold his car yesterday if he had sold it over a week ago?

Mate even though this is an old thread the guy has made an extremely valid point. It has happened to me as well and i have reported to ebay.

It's even older now, and your post added nothing to the thread.

Given there are numerous current ones you could have posted on instead.

And I'm not your mate.
